Madlax California headed to Morgan Hill in the 2nd Annual Classic for a Cause

Madlax California High School teams headed south for the weekend to Morgan Hill, CA to compete in the 2nd Annual Classic for a Cause Tournament.  It was an excellent weekend for Madlax as they teams went a combined 8-7 over the weekend.

HS Orange opened the day with two wins over the Sacramento Aces and NorCal Braves.  The team stumbled at the end of the day dropping a 6-5 match to the Booth 2015 team.  On Sunday, the team got edged out by the Sacramento Aces, but rebounded with two victories over RAE-South Bay and Booth 2015/2016.  The team finished 4-2 on the weekend and was lead on offense by Garrett Stemmler & Angelo Lagomarsino.  Defensively, Ethan Baer & Cary Goeller held down the fort while the defense created many turnovers and fast break opportunities.

2017 Orange had an excellent weekend as well finishing 3-2.  Starting the day off with a win over Tribe 8-4 and then beating Ronin West 18-3, the team was looking ready to battle the Booth 2017 team.  The team fought valiantly, but dropped the game against Booth 2017.  After a morning loss on Sunday, the team bounced back to get two wins in the afternoon to cap off a weekend in which the team got better.  Having played togehter for just a few weeks, this team has been making great strides and improving quickly.

HS Blue opened the weekend the way it finished Platinum Prospects, with a win.  The rest of their weekend was filled with close games that they were on the losing end for, but fought valiantly.  In their final game on Saturday they came from 4 goals down to tie the game and force overtime.  In the Braveheart, they took a shot off the post and then were not able to get the stop, but a great display of the C.A.S.E. attitude at Madlax!

Overall, it was an excellent weekend for the Madlax California High School teams.  They will be off this weekend, but back in action on July 5&6 as they are at the Pacific Surf Tournament.  For more information follow us on twitter, @madlaxcali .
