4 Madlax National Teams traveled to Tampa, Florida @ the NDP TOC sponsored by Dicks

Madlax National Teams attended the prestigious national championship tournament in Tampa, Florida and came home CHAMPIONS in two very difficult divisions. It all started with just one practice the day before but Madlax players and coaches created instant chemistry that translated to fun, success and a lasting lacrosse memory of a lifetime!

Madlax entered a team in four divisions: 11U, 13U, 15U and Elite. The 13U and 15U teams won the National Championships!  The 13U team won this tournament for the 2nd year in a row.

The Elite Team, coached by Trent Carter (Florida) and John Sivillo (Florida), was led by Poochie Stemmler (California), Michael Nathan (Florida), Ritter Marchant (Capital), Zach Woods (Florida) and Reed Thomson (Capital). They finished with a 4-3 record and advanced to the quarter-finals.

The 15U team, coached by Andrew Klontz (California), Cabell Maddux (National) and Dan Soviero (Florida), was led by Jack Keating (Capital), Joey Epstein (Capital), Connor McCulloch (Capital), Luke Curran (Florida), Sean Mahoney (Florida), Ricky Miezan (Capital), Austin Stewart (Capital), Steven Cornwell (Capital), Danny Walsh (Capital ), Jack Scalia (Capital) and Shane Corcoran (Capital). Austin Stewart was named Championship game MVP with one goal and 3 assists. The team finished 7-1 and had an impressive run through the playoffs against some of the best teams in the country. This team beat Brady Bunch with a goal from Luke Curran with 1 second on the clock in the quarter-finals. They then beat FCA Nationals (defending champs) 6-5 in OT after being down 5-1 at half-time. Connor McCulloch had a goal off a feed from Austin Stewart. Then, finally, they defeated a Sweetlax team who was undefeated (but missing players who were ejected due to fighting) in the finals 11-9.

The 13U team, coached by Matt Marriott (Capital) and Hunter Krout (Florida), was led by Connor Shllenberger, Emmett Barger, Finaly MacKnight (All Capital) on attack, Brian Wilmans, Mason Edwards, Jon Bender (All Capital) at midfield, Michael Grogan (Capital), Gabe Galbraith (Sentry-Texas), Brad Lenard (Capital) on defense and Zeb Fuller (Florida), Nathan McAleer (Sentry-Texas) in goal. The 13U team went 8-0 and frankly rolled through teams. The closest games were against Atlanta Empire who they were only leading 6-5 at half before pulling out an 13-6 win. The Cannons challenged Madlax Nationals as Madlax only lead 4-1 at half but finished off 9-1 to take the championship.

The 11U Team, coached by Bobby Guill (Capital) and Vince Lodato (Capital), was led by Will McCulloch and Witt Crawford on Attack, Alex Holmes, Dominic Yantiss and Jason Lach at midfield, John Fontham and Will Matia on defense, and Will Barnes in the goal. All players were from Capital U13 Orange, U13 Blue and U11 Orange teams. They finished 4-4 overall. Madlax will add new players from all partner programs and regional programs in summer 2015 to create a true 2022 National Team!
